The Inner Cell
Imprisonment is a mental state, a silent barrier that immobilizes us. The cell can open from the inside and transform that constraint into a beginning of change.
In the article "Free in Captivity", published in "Tricycle", Fleet Maull retraces the years of his detention: the shock of the conviction, the constant weight of depression, the temptation to give up, and the way meditation allows him to go through the pain, transforming the prison into a space of awareness and inner liberation.
The illustration received an Honorable Mention at the 3x3 International Illustration Pro Show No.13, was selected for Creative Quarterly 100 Best 2016, published in the Communication Arts Illustration Annual, and exhibited at the Society of Illustrators 61 in New York.
