Shifting Identities
Poster Safari is a collective exhibition that, during Zurich Design Weeks, uses the urban space as its exhibition context. The works are distributed across different parts of the city, along the everyday routes of passers-by, and appear in a dual form: physical print and animation activated through augmented reality.
My project for the 2023 edition focuses on identity, understood as something that does not settle into a fixed role. The image brings different elements into dialogue within the same visual structure, leaving room for multiple interpretations.
The faces generated using artificial intelligence do not refer to recognisable individuals, but to abstract physiognomies, varied in form, conceived to evoke the diversity of gender identities.
Within the pattern, facial features multiply and interweave, suggesting a plural presence. The colour palette, inspired by the visual language of the LGBTQ+ movement, recalls inclusion and solidarity. The augmented reality animation introduces chromatic modulation that transforms the perception of the poster.
