Cover illustration for Corriere della Sera, one of Italy’s oldest and most influential daily newspapers, based in Milan.
The image was conceived as the cover for a special supplement dedicated to EICMA – the International Exhibition of Bicycles, Motorcycles and Accessories, the world’s largest trade fair for the motorcycle industry, held every autumn in Milan.
To capture the spirit of the event, the illustration reimagined the Madonnina—the golden statue crowning Milan’s cathedral and a defining symbol of the city—adorned with visual elements drawn from motorcycling culture. The result created a dialogue between tradition and contemporary iconography, turning a historic emblem into a playful, pop-inflected tribute to the city and its passion for two wheels.
The illustration was ultimately left out of the newspaper shortly before publication.
